I am a trans-gentleman looking to make a difference in this world. I was born female but that does not make me any less of a man. I believe that everyone has the right to self-determination and that no one has the right to tell another person what they are or aren't. I believe in Universal Human Rights and in a higher power that is not full of wrath and rules but just pure creative and loving energy. I have dedicated my life to making positive change in the world through my work as an LGBT activist. I am currently a Political Science Major at University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and plan on working with organizations like the Human Rights Campaign, National Center for Transgender Awareness and others in the activist community after I graduate. In the meantime, I use social media to spread a message of equality. I am here to make a difference in this world. Please join me. My most recent publication is acts as a guide to other FTMs based off of my journey transitioning. Support independent publishing: Buy this book on Lulu.

Harry Potter Fans and Acceptance

Harry Potter Fans and Acceptance Survey

This survey was created by LGBT activist and long time Harry Potter fan Anthony Doubek. He realized that he had never met a homophobic, racist or sexist Harry Potter fan before and this sparked his interest. He asks all Harry Potter fans to take 5 minutes out of their day to answer the questions on this survey so he can learn more about the correlation between being a Harry Potter fan and being accepting.

“A few days ago was Day of Silence, a day set aside to raise awareness about LGBT bullying, anti-gay violence and suicide.
Last night I talked a friend down from a suicide attempt.
I will respect my friend’s privacy by not giving any details about them, but I can tell you that the world would lose some of it’s shine if this person were gone.
It’s time for a wake up call world. This teenager was going to take their life because of the hatred in this world that is aimed at them. This person is beautiful, unique, creative and driven and is constantly pushed down just because they are a little different. This has got to stop.
I am calling for every person who reads this post to break the silence surrounding the issue of mental health, surrounding suicide, surrounding everything that makes us feel less than worth it.”

“I am an anomaly in the world of the bullied. So many kids are are affected so deeply by bullying that the cuts never even turn into scars. They walk around with wounds that are opened again and again until they have nothing left to bleed out. They are pushed closer and closer to the edge by every word and many of them eventually fall. And the thing is, we can’t put this all on the kids who turn into bullies. Many of those kids are in just as much pain as the bullied. If we want to take steps toward creating a world where kids leave school without massive amounts of scaring, we have to start creating a society where social policing of gender, fashion, interests, capability, color, status and self-expression no longer runs rampant in our streets.”
